Our services have been applied to a wide range of processes in both upstream and downstream activities. Providing emergency shutdown functions of unmanned offshore platforms, using satellite-based communications, to the implementation of safety critical controls managing heaters stabilising crude oil at onshore oil terminals.
Our experience of working with global oil and gas and petrochemical operators means we are able to design and integrate complex systems, which are critical to the business.
Having undertaken projects for international contractors operating on behalf of oil and gas exploration organisations across the globe, we have a proven ability to interpret and meet the demands of the various derivatives and standards relating to functional safety. Multi-national operators are able to benefit from our working experience of North American, European and Norwegian standards.
Harsh & hazardous environments
Charter Tech personnel are fully conversant with the strict requirements governing designated hazardous areas and the tough environmental conditions experienced in coastal and desert locations, where refineries are typically found. We employ a variety of protection methods to ensure that plant and personnel safety is never compromised.
End products & storage
Our understanding of post refining processes has resulted in our systems being used in a number of significant areas, such as the dosing of selective additives to petrol products at tanker loading stations, bitumen blending and sequence control of vapour recovery units. We have in depth operational knowledge of tank farms having designed and commissioned networked controllers to manage the distribution and storage of feedstocks, intermediate and finished products.
Applied solutions include:
Platform and floating storage shutdown
Crude oil stabilization
Storage and product routing
